Sequences of the study

The first meeting lasts approximately three to four hours. A multitude of information is collected through dialogue, measurements, numerical analyzes and postural studies so that the technician makes the necessary transformations on the bike.
To this will be added an hour of cycling practice to test and refine the new position a few weeks later.

At SFSperformance each bike fitting begins with a brief interview, whether the athlete is beginner or experienced. This evaluation is done in a professional way between the technician and the customer. This conversation will highlight the athlete’s past experiences, injuries, personal goals and training program. This interview aims to familiarize the technician with the athlete and really meet the expectations of the cyclist. This step can sometimes lead to a reconsideration of goals by the athlete.

This step gives the technician a clear idea of the condition of the bone structure, muscle and flexibility of the cyclist. This includes a series of physical observations, such as the structure of the feet, the position of the knees, the curvature of the shoulder blades and the spine, among others.

Some tests are done using a massage table such as leg length checking, hip rotation and the Thomas test.

This observation gives the technician and the athlete the opportunity to visualize together the profile movements of the cyclist. The technician gets the exact measurements to restore a neutral position that will give both more power and comfort to the cyclist. A series of adjustments is made to the bike according to the results.
The frontal evaluation completes the profile assessment in the athlete’s analysis.
The front view allows to observe hips / knees / feet in motion alignment and foot position variations on the pedals. New readjustments are then applied on the bike always with the aim of a better performance.

With the help of the software connected to the HD cameras, checking angles during the biomechanical movement on the bike becomes easier and more precise.

This part of the service varies according to the type of cyclist. For some athletes, the changes will be accepted rather quickly by their bodies and their “muscle memory”. It depends on the cyclist depending on his age, his flexibility, the intensity and duration of his training, whether or not he participates in races, the number of years as a cyclist, his injuries, etc. This monitoring is used to determine the effectiveness of the changes and to answer possible questions from the athlete.
